We couldn’t think of a better way to give an insight into what we do than to interview a few of our lovely customers, welcome to our customer style profile.

For our first profile we chose long time regular and S&S Co friend Johnny, here goes...

1. Please tell us your name and a little bit about yourself?

John Dowdeswell/Johnny Boneyard/Beatnik. Motorcycle Rider & Collector of obscure nik naks , Vintage clothes & Motorcycles ...I like the company of my eclectic pals all who I’ve met through a shared love of two wheels, in conjunction with a love of nature juxtaposed with city life. Coffee bars & Street Art are what make me tick & what I love to document & capture in images.

2. Please tell us who and what are your biggest style influences?

Timeless Icons with style for me, the likes of Lee Marvin (Chino) in The Wild One and the likes of Bruce Lee in Enter the Dragon. In my formative years in the 70’s, Punk is what really swayed me The Clash absolutely nailed it so I emulated that with drainpipes & zips & bondage straps, it was such relief when flairs and platform shoes were commonplace, not my scene at all, l guess there’s still a hint of that in my current attire. I like to try & create my own look, Bike related but a little unique, always influenced by Subculture, 50’s America / Workwear etc.

3. What is your favourite vintage garment?

My Vintage studded leather Rocker Cut is a standout piece & I’m also a sucker for Biker / Logger Boots.

4. Please tell us why you shop at Salvage & Sawdust Co and how you discovered us?

It’s a unique place & collective. It’ really is a Home from Home for me, Cool Vibes, Music, Vintage.

I instantly had an affinity with Jack, you could say a kindred spirit & he loves a Barter!

5. What pieces from Salvage & Sawdust Co do you own?

Lost count, French Workwear/50’s Cowichans/Chalkware/Necklaces/Pictures/Beanies/Baseball caps/Jackets/Soap/Candles/T-shirts/Custom made Sweatshirts and the list goes on & on, Christ I’m the No 1!
